About Us

North Texas Perinatal Associates (NTPA) provides Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultative services. NTPA is the largest Maternal-Fetal Medicine group in North Texas with 7 conveniently located AIUM accredited offices in the Arlington/McKinney region. Our board-certified and board-eligible physicians provide outpatient, office-based high-risk pregnancy care, inpatient antepartum consultative care, and maternal-transfer services.

The NTPA practice began in 1991 with two co-founding members, Dr. Kenneth J. Trimmer and Dr. Michael Cavenee (now retired). They established offices on the campuses of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and the Medical Center of Plano. Within the first year, the doctors added their first satellite clinic at Irving Medical Center, which was relocated to the Medical Center of Las Colinas campus in 1991. Since then, additional locations have been opened to provide perinatal services to the DFW metroplex with offices from Fort Worth to Sherman.

North Texas Perinatal Associates offers a full range of Maternal-Fetal Medicine services. Consultative and surgical services include care for high-risk pregnancies, care for fetal complications and anomalies, genetic counseling, nuchal translucency, cell free fetal DNA, chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, intrauterine transfusion, transabdominal and transcervical cerclage, as well as other services. We are committed to turning high-risk pregnancies into low-risk deliveries.
